More than 70 MPs have voted for gender-selective abortions to be made illegal in the UK within just a few months.
The 1967 abortion act states that abortion is legal where “the continuance of the pregnancy would involve risk, greater than if the pregnancy were terminated, of injury to the physical or mental health of the pregnant woman or any existing children of her family.”
