Why are women’s groups and unions lining up against Fiona Bruce MP’s bill to ban the abominable practice of gender-selective abortion?
Imagine legalising discrimination against women in the workplace. A law that allowed bosses to wolf-whistle when a female staffer walked by, employers to promote male employees over their female counterparts because the latter were “just women”, and the panel at a job interview to ask a young woman candidate whether she was planning to go off on maternity leave the minute they employed her.
